Set against a recycled brick wall and located within the Learning Street, the bio filtration wall acts as air purifier removing VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air. A combination of indoor plants, ferns and native grasses make up this sustainable vertical garden.
A hydroponic recycled watering and feeding systems supports the vegetated panels and watering is connected to the Building Management System. The green living wall reduces heat, noise and reflected light.
All building services components are incorporated within a Building Management System (BMS) monitored by students and staff. All service runs are identifiable as type and run. This transparency of building structure and services provides awareness to the occupant and is considered an ecological sustainable design initiative.
Exposed building services include hydronic heating, gas reticulation, stormwater, data / power cabling and harvested water.
