MOUNT RIDLEY P-12 COLLEGE

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION & EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

MOUNT RIDLEY P-12 COLLEGE, CRAIGIEBURN

Following our commission in late May 2007, master planning for the new year P-12 School was undertaken in conjunction with a local Planning Group [educators, parents], the community development group [Stocklands] and the City of Hume.

Extensive discussion took place in relation to current pedagogical philosophy, and the design of the first stage reflects that discussion, and also our experience in the regeneration projects in both Bendigo and Broadmeadows.

The School shall be developed as four distinct communities; Years 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10 and 12, with the possibility that Special Needs students shall be incorporated into, or adjacent to, these communities.

The first stage of work is the P4 community ($5 million stage) was designed and documented between July and October 2007 and the second stage 5-8 communities ($7 million stage) was designed and documented between July and October 2008.
