CATHOLIC COLLEGE BENDIGO - MARIAN CENTRE
CATHOLIC COLLEGE BENDIGO
The Marian Centre was officially opened in February 2008 and provides performing arts and physical education facilities for approximately 650 Year 10-12 students at the Coolock campus of Catholic College Bendigo.
Although ultimately developed as two relatively separate areas (physically) as an outcome of town planning demands, the major spaces are nevertheless visually linked by a centrally located Foyer and function space.
The function space looks down into the PE area and provides direct access into the music production rooms, music room and theatre.
A four metre change in level between the PE and performing arts areas has been developed for tiered seating.
The PE space provides double netball courts, storage, classrooms and weights training area and can function independent of the performing arts Facilities.
Performing arts has four practice rooms, a sound / control booth, storage, staff work space, amenities and a 350 seat state of the art tiered theatre in which the stage can function as a separate music classroom.
Construction was completed at a cost of $ 5,250,000
